lots of tings gwan! i did a casting for Oprah's "own show" contest on Saturday. i taped a portion of my EPK on Sunday. I'm packing and moving this week, yet i haven't really started. i did some basic ish on Tues with a client-unexpected and fun.....and went thru the twilight zone today. just left an a-list event with an A-list friend. looked across the room and saw that my home girls life was parallel to mine. CRAZY. I'm fried right now and I'm just getting in the house. CONFUSION.

I've got so much to do--and time is flying by. i gotta stop looking at life and a particular situation with rose color glasses--cuz shit ain't sweet, gotta start treating people accordingly. and really doing me. cant let peoples actions or lack of actions sway me from my focus. enough of that.

my current source of inspiration at the moment...HALSTON. so simple, so fabulous and timeless. after doing plenty of research on the often unmentioned designer...i now understand my obsession with studio 54, diana ross and "gina" in scarface..... its all about him...his presence was strong in the 70's. its obvious that halston has inspired the masses, everybody from donna karan to lanvin. and we all know i die for lanvin.
I'm so into the make-up, the movement and the sex appeal. check out these nasty soulful struts on the catwalk. i died 3x and came back.

this scene from The Wiz is epic! my bestie Mahogany (aka Adriane jamison) reminded me exactly how fresh it really was and is to this day. its so cool and if u check out the costuming....everybody was full out! shout out to the wardrobe department, that was a shitload of work!

but anyway....this video speaks to trends and if the powers that be change there mind, everybody follows suit. I've always been one to walk to the beat of my drum and the older i get the cautious i become. this is just a reminder to you (and myself) to stay true to who you are and dare to be different. life is short---snatch the tag on that new piece and wear to the grocery store if u wish. set the trend and or step in front of it!

For years-i've forgiven myself for procrastination and chucking it up to "doing things right" and or "making things perfect". When in all actually its the fear of failing and the fear of standing before my peers taking full responsibility of the product and promotion of the product that bares my name. But- I'm getting old---i have no time to really prepare and refine---i just have to use my life knowledge up to this point and "DO".
What has been my problem all these years? What do I have to loose?
I've got to start taking advantage of all the people I've connected with, all the ground I've covered, all the pain I've felt, all the wisdom I've gained and use it to soar.

its in stores now. please go and get it. i feel so happy and proud to apart of the movement that is raheem devaughn. he works tirelessly, recording, giving back to the community and honing his craft, so musically inclined and dedicated to to making feel good music and touching your soul. we've known each other for about 6 years now, i met him when i was the assistant stylist on his project- we clicked. we both recognized and respected the under Dog in each other. he promised me when he got a budget that he would hire me as his key stylist and he did, for that i will forever be loyal to him as a stylist and friend. he so talented and deserves to win BIG.....i believe his name will rest comfortably amongst Aretha, Anita, miles davis, Marvin Gaye and Luther---he's a classic act and u need to be familiar. cop the album, you'll love it!

isabella blow, known for her outlandish head gear, super styling and eye for up and coming fashion artist she made her mark in the fashion world. isabella died in 2007 by tragically taking her own life. im always reading up on the fashion greats and it seems to be a reoccuring theme amongst some of fashions most colorful personalities. its sad but it suggests that maybe those who hurt the most contribute the most to the happiness of others?????? just something to think about.
